industry. We worked 80-hour weeks for a year. We also sacrificed some of our ideals when it came to sourcing things like dairy so that we could continue to source organ- ic grain. We stopped attending industry events and instead spent our time working on our business. It meant not being in the “in” crowd, but it paid off. Our business is up 20%, and we have grown to a point where we can start hiring designers to help us update our marketing. We’ve stayed in- dependent and have reduced our hours just as our first baby was born. We’ve fi- nally begun paying off debt and hope to be debt-free in two years. But am I happy with the industry?
