CRAFT by Under My Host® Issue No. 15 Classics | Page 42

Stemming from the Get Lit program out of Eastern Washington University, Pie & Whiskey celebrates the written word in the best way possible: with pie and whis- key. Over the course of five years, writers have come together for what is described as the “tent revival of literary events,” to eat pie, drink Dry Fly whiskey, and hear writers share their work. Each writer creates a piece based upon the prompts, “pie” and “whiskey” and that is something we at CRAFT can get behind. You may not be able to make the trek to Spokane to take part, but you can cer- tainly join in the fun. An anthology of the various author’s work, complete with pie and whiskey cocktail recipes, has been assembled for a wider audience. Here’s an excerpt from M. L. Smoker and a couple of recipes to get you in the spirit. Be sure to check out Indiebound.
