After moving to NY from Israel, chef, Ron and pastry chef Lee-
tal, a hub of Jewish culture, but noticed right away that the food
wasn’t being represented to the fullest. They wanted to change
the perception of Jewish food in NY, which is mostly based in the
Ashkenazi tradition, by sharing the Sephardic. They wanted to
give access to this amazing food they grew up with, but there
was a disconnect as far as access to ingredients. So, they set
out to create a Middle Eastern pantry of sorts, making Middle
Eastern kitchen essentials using the best possible ingredients
and preparation. Their focus? Harissa. Really well-made harissa,
in both paste and spice form. This is perfect for any food lover. Every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings?
No. More like a food writer inhales an excel-
lent chocolate bar because, ding dong, this
collection from Seattle’s favorite bean to bar
producer is delicious! Made with organic and
fair-trade cocoa and sugar, this is a treat that
is as ethically sourced as it is satisfying. This
library collection is an assemblage of Theo’s
greatest hits. A friend or loved one would be
lucky to receive this gift pack for the holidays
or just because.
