Columnists and Contributors Issue 14 // Autumn 2017 Daniel Cosman Guest Contributor | Farmer and Founder of Cosman & Webb Township Organics Having grown up on an organic maple syrup and natural beef farm in southern Quebec, Daniel was no stranger to agriculture and hard work. Leaving the family farm after graduation, he went on to study languages and creative arts at Champlain College, then International Development at St. Mary’s Univer- sity in Halifax. Returning to his roots, Daniel moved back to his family’s farm to help shepherd the maple forest and run the sugar camp; he also began working on a new brand for the farm’s syrup. In December 2014, Cosman & Webb Townships Organic was launched—organic, unblended, single forest maple syrup, available online and in stores. Daniel enjoys wine and canoeing, and most of all, hiking in the sugar bush with his wife, Sarah, and their two kids, Yannick and Eleanor. Jerry Gnagy Guest Contributors, Jerry Does Asia| Founding Member and Co-Owner, Against the Grain Brewery Jerry Gnagy started brewing beer in grade school at the age of 6 and learned quickly that he was slightly better than mediocre. During his formative years at Adams College, he won the big tricycle race with his fraternity Lambda Lambda Lambda propelling them over the Alpha Betas, thereby taking control of the Greek Council. Unfortunately, he blew out his Vitoglannis on the last lap and was forced to start Against the Grain Brewery which was the only career path where he could utilize his 5th-grade fart-joke skillset. Craig Johnstone Guest Contributor, Whisky: Down the Rabbit Hole| Distiller Craig Johnstone has recently returned to his Scottish hometown after a 2-year stint as distillery manag- er at Lark Distillery in Tasmania. Before that, he was buying and selling whisky in the Middle East, travel- ing the world with Bruichladdich, chairing the Scotch Malt Whisky Society tasting panel, and traveling Canada with The Macallan and Highland Park. His whisky career started on his 18th birthday as a tour guide at Glenkinchie Distillery where he tried his first dram and started his Whisky Adventure. He plans to open his o
