CPDS is exclusive to all you Building and Construction professionals who register to attend one of the regional Technical Forums we stage all over the UK and Ireland. We publish just three times a year so this issue will keep you informed of all the remaining 2014 events and provide advance notice of the early 2015 event dates and locations. The September to end of November period will see almost 30 different venues, December will see us pause for a breather then the 2015 programme starts towards the end of January and we have almost 70 different dates already planned for next year - even more venues than 2014! I have to say that the standard of seminar presentations just seems to get better and better PLUS - we are seeing a number of brand new topics being introduced as more and more companies want to meet YOU - the DCE delegates! All of the talks comply to CPD requirements to ‘Technically Update’ and we will continue to hand out CPD Attendance Certificates at each venue. By and large the 2014 tour has already proved to be quite successful. We have visited some new locations this year and the response at some venues has been quite exceptional which means that we will be back at those locations in 2015 - with different seminar topics involved where possible. At a recent event in Luton one delegate commented “This has been excellent. I am not sure what I expected but the quality of seminars has been superb and I will definitely come back next time”! At Bromley, one of the presenters was scored 6 6 6 out of 5 5 5 for his seminar by a local Architect. FEATURED PRODUCT Interestingly, we do not ask our presenters to give Accredited CPD Presentations. We ask for PROBLEM SOLVING PRODUCT PRESENTATIONS that are technical and informative. FRONT COVER STORY We also don’t offer double points or double time for any of the CPD Approved talks. Our view is that the 105 hours of CPD over three years can only be achieved in 105 hours not 52 and ½!!! My motto for the next series of DCE events is this: The internet is great for information - however - for real knowledge you need to Meet the EXPERTS! Finally, I am thinking of running a jokes page in CPDS! We get some excellent response from the joke emailer Newsletter sent every 4/6 weeks. I also get into trouble with some people who complain about the quality of the joke or the subject covered. Obviously, we don’t intend to upset anyone. All we want is for you to check the website and see when your local event is in the area so that you can put DCE in the diary and we can then see you on the day. Simples!!
