ScreedBoard®
Sound Proof
Flooring wins
Prestigious Award
Highly regarded for its outstanding sound and under floor heating
performance, ScreedBoard® took home the winners trophy at the
Housebuilder Product Awards 2014. Recognised in the “Best Internal/
Interior Product” category ScreedBoard® features a wealth of benefits to
developers and property owners.
The boards are ideal for new build and refurbishment projects due to their
extensive benefits and all round versatility. The unique lay and lock (no
screws) edge detail make it quick and simple to install a high density, ultra
performance floor with a screed look finish. Other similar systems need to
be screwed down, representing significant increases in cost and time. This
method of installation also creates the potential for damage to be inflicted
to the under floor heating system, which would require extensive remedial
work post floor competition.
ScreedBoard® is a low profile, dry screed 20/28mm gypsum based
floor board manufactured from 100% recyclable material that features
a unique interlocking edge detail (no screws). ScreedBoard®’s low
thermal resistance (0.05m2/kW) allows under floor heating to spread
evenly through the floor and provide occupants with optimal warmth under
foot. ScreedBoard® typically increases heat efficiency by 30% - 40%
when compared to timber overlays, providing the end-user with optimum
performance and cost saving benefits.
Once ScreedBoard® is installed, carpet and laminate flooring can be
applied directly to finish the floor. The boards excel further in bathroom
and kitchen areas as ceramic tiles can be installed directly, offering a
significant benefit over traditional chipboard. As a dry screed solution
ScreedBoard® removes the drying times that are typically associated with
wet screed, considerably reducing overall build times and reducing the
impact on the overall floor height. The boards are suitable for ground floor
applications where under floor heating is required, on a separating floor
for soundproofing or as a combined under floor heating and soundproofing
solution.
When installed as an acoustic system on a separating floor
ScreedBoard®’s deliver excellent sound proofing performance.
ScreedBoard® is the only single layer treatment with a robust detail
for timber floors and features two proprietary Robust details; E-FT-5
and E-FT-6 and are FFT4 compliant for concrete floors. Robust detail
approved systems are proven solutions and remove the need for precompletion sound testing. Typical acoustic performance when installed as
an E-FT-5 system is 51dB Airborne and 55dB Impact, exceeding the Part
E Building Regulation requirements.
