Heras UK Fencing Systems is a market leader in security
fencing and gate systems and is a trading division of CRH
FSG (UK) Ltd, a leading player in the international building
materials market.
Heras specialise in the design and manufacture of a range
of perimeter solutions including welded mesh fencing, selfraking railings, complete sports fencing and entry systems.
Heras are proud to accomplish accreditation from Secured
by Design for their secure fencing solutions.
The UK Police flagship initiative, ‘Secured by Design’
(SBD), focus on the principles of design and security by use
of effective crime prevention. Established in 1989 by the
Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) ‘Secured by
Design’ promotes the use of security standards for fencing.
Six leading secure perimeter products by Heras meet
with strict ‘Secured by Design’ criteria, tested by an
approved body, the British Research Establishment. Each
product achieved a Loss Prevention Screen (LPS) 1175
accreditation, the perimeter products were rigorously tested
against the police preferred specification.
Tests are made with three focus points:

Attackers tool list, what tools will be used to attack
the fence? As the levels advance the tool list
incorporates heavier duty tooling equipment.

Working time, this is a set time allocated at each
level of SBD for the attacker to consider a method
of entry/attack.
l
Attack time, an allocated amount of time set at each
level of SBD to attack the fence and gain entry.
