3. Enhance understanding by finding a common language. Engagement is especially challenging on virtual teams because it requires balance three psychological demands that influence trust: autonomy, control, collaboration.

4. Place team alignment at the core of all team meetings. Supporting alignment involves supporting four team activities, each of which offers an opportunity to foster touch to develop trust.

5. Embrace technology and test its limits. Technology that is supported by the organization and readily available to and valued by all team members is crucial to fostering trust.
