PEAK Awards Gala Celebrates Leaders in Finance
The 20th annual AWF PEAK Awards gala champions women in finance. CPABC was an honouring partner of the Association of Women in Finance’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The five PEAK award winners were recognized as change-makers in the finance industry and celebrated for their commitment to advancing women in the workplace and their professional excellence. Sue Paish, CEO of LifeLabs won the Excellence in the Private Sector Award. Bob Elton, FCPA, FCA, executive-in-residence, Vancity, adjunct professor, Sauder School of Business (UBC) and Royal Roads University, won the Champion award. Brenda Liggett, CPA, CMA, chief financial officer, Fraser Health Authority, won the Excellence in the Public Sector Award. Jodi Moss, CPA, CA, partner, KPMG, won the Rising Star Award. Geri Prior, FCPA, FCA, vice-chair, YWCA Metro Vancouver, won the Lifetime Achievement Award. Barry Macdonald, FCPA, FCA, CPABC’s first vice-chair, commended her for her leadership and financial stewardship. Her distinguished career included serving as CFO of the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) from 2000 to 2016. Macdonald also noted that CPABC’s members bring valuable insight to their organizations and are role models for the business community.
