COMMITTEE Cowes Harbour Advisory Committee (CHAC) CHC has included the provision of a stakeholder advisory committee in the Commission’s Constitution, as recommended by the Department for Transport. CHC should consult the Advisory Committee on all matters affecting the management, maintenance, improvement, conservation, protection or regulation of the harbour and its navigation: cowesharbourcommission.co.uk/advisory_committee The Advisory Committee is a key part of good governance, enabling stakeholders to bring ideas and issues to the attention of Commissioners. The CHAC also plays an essential role as a forum for collecting updates, news and developments from CHC that impact on and affect stakeholders, harbour and river users. The CHAC meets several times a year and is made up of a number of members from key stakeholder organisations, with a self-appointed Chairman. Recent items on the Advisory Committee agenda have included, harbour safety, water taxi services, the Floating Bridge, Destination Cowes, the Outer Harbour Project (Shrape extension and Eastern Channel dredge), the Homes and Communities Agency led
