It is from here that Hezarfen Ahmed Celebi flew from across the Bosporus from Europe to Asia in 1638 thus inaugurating the first international flight. You can get a birds eye view of everything from the top of the Galata towers. The best time to go is before sunset where you can observe the scenic view followed by he Magrib Azaan from all around the city. Please note that ascending the towers comes with a price. The little cobble-stoned street near the historic Galata Tower is probably one of Istanbul’s coolest shopping streets. You definitely won’t see any big name brands, because this street is known for its cool boutiques. As you stroll up and down the winding streets you will come across the amazing antique and vintage boutiques as well as the Museum of Innocence, which (also quite befittingly) is a giant showcase for a past, but not forgotten, Istanbul. 2.Miniaturk Take the kids to Miniaturk.
