A FEW THOUGHTS TO GO WITH YOUR MORNING BREW

ADIEU ADIEU..
This is indeed a bittersweet end-of-year issue
for me to conclude a captivating cuppa on..
As I look back on a "Year of Transformation" as the Covered
Magazine Brand Ambassador 2019 - of all the lessons I will
cherish, this experience has only reinforced something I
already believed in: That it is possible to be a modest
Muslim woman yet still feel and look beautiful and
confident- ENOUGH to navigate the world through my
relationships as a wife, mum, sister and Muslimah
Professional in Media and Marketing .. and as of this year a
Brand Ambassador with the trust and confidence of an
entire brand and sisterhood I have gained through this
experience.
I have used this platform to amplify my voice, harnessing
this opportunity to benefit as many women and youth
empowerment initiatives as I could in this short space of
time.
From events at Wits University to Potchefstroom “Pukke” ;
Fundraisers supporting and creating awareness on the
refugee crises to celebrating one's identity on World Hijab
Day. I have also spoken out on serious matters including
gender-based violence in our country. My message and
mission would not be complete if I did not encourage life-
long learning, a value I try and not only preach but live as
best I can with each and every year.
On a lighter note, I've at times dared to share my quirky side
with readers of the mag and viewers on our social media
pages, just me being myself as honest and open as I could
be. There was great interaction and I appreciate the
relatable feedback and the many friends I have made on
this journey.

There were many opportunities to be groomed, glammed
up , recognised and celebrated by the Covered Tribe who
have constantly cheered me on. Thank you to an entire
Sisterhood who have all played a part in a transformative
and meaningful journey I will always cherish and remember.
