Many of us have goals, things we want to achieve. However, the
difficulty does not lay with the goal but rather with the process of
achieving it and getting to that outcome. When trying to achieve
ones goals, there are many exercises or actions one can take in
order to help and guide you. One of the most important things we
need to take into account is how we treat ourselves. If we are
constantly believing “I cannot do it” then we won’t. Instead, be
gentle with yourself and train your mind to positive self-talk. Block
out that negativity and forgive yourself when things go wrong.
Your determination to achieve your goal is also
another important aspect. Here are some tips in
developing that determination:
Keep the end in sight
Select role models who achieved what you desire
Educate yourself I the field
Be conscious of your thoughts
Repeat positive affirmations on a daily basis
Be flexible in your approach’
Acknowledge and reward the small success on your journey
Learn from lessons gained
Dissociation – look at the situation from a third person perspective
Be true to yourself
Pray and meditate often
