Fab Your Fashion, Wisely
By Razeena Docrat
W e’ve all had those days; waking up
frantic and feeling like we’ve got
nothing to wear despite having a
cupboard stuffed with clothing. And if
you’re like most women, the first idea
that comes to mind before you rush
off to work or a last minute function
is to ‘mix and match’ a quick, suitable
outfit.
In between cooking, kids, hubbies and
everything else that comes with life –
we neither have the time to get those
cupboards in order, nor have the
mega-bucks to buy new sets of
clothing every day!
But being a busy woman or working
within a (tight) budget doesn’t
necessarily mean you have to dig deep
into your pockets, or your time, to
look your best. You simply need some
‘closet skills’.
Here’s a short list of quick tips on how
to put together a perfect outfit, and to
help make sure you never pack out
your entire closet just to find that one
particular skirt - again!

1. The Closet Detox
Keeping everything you buy, forever, will
leave your wardrobe cluttered. You don’t
need to hold on to clothing you know you
won’t wear again. It only makes it harder to
determine what you actually need. Remove
outdated items, including jeans you
(secretly) wish you’ll fit back into, as well as
items that look like twins - such as too many
reds or similar shaped pants. You could sell
them online through various sites such as
junk mail, gumtree and even your personal
social media accounts. A more rewarding
option, however, is to give them away as
Sadaqah, and trust that Allah will bless you
even more.
