COVER FEATURE___________________________________________________________________________ I have a few businesses that I am involved in that do require travelling and time away from home which is often tough. Thank goodness for great support networks. Travelling is a love of mine and I travel often with my family through the year. I do feel very blessed to be able to do this and we cherish these memories dearly. My time with my friends usually revolves around early morning post school drop off breakfasts, some time out at the spa or quick coffees in between our crazy days. I am very close to all my cousins. We were raised in a very close knit family and Alhamdulillah still have this. I'm a family girl at heart. 6. How would you want to be remembered? When all is done I want to be able to say "I tried!" None of us are going to get it right, but we want to do our best. No matter what we do in our lives, kindness and gentleness to all is most important. 4. What is your biggest fear? Two years ago this list would have been a long one. There used to be so many before. I've lost too much in my life, for much in this life to now scare me. Now my biggest fear is not doing enough to earn my Jannah. There are some very special people that I'm waiting to be with on the other side so I don't want to leave here without having done all that I can. 5. Tell us what you get up to when you not in front of the camera? I have a number of community obligations which take a lot of my time but I wouldn't change this for anything. No matter what we do in our lives, our obligations to our community and our country should never be stopped. 12 7. What advice would you give your young self ? Don’t be afraid. Be you. Cherish every moment. Slow down. Don’t be scared to be alone and don't be afraid of failure. Allah is always there. Be kinder to yourself. 8. What's favourite book and movie? The 40 rules of love- It’s a book that I always keep on my shelf. There's something in it for each time and moment. Dead Poets society has always been one of my favourites and a Bollywood movie called Lajja - which means shame. It dealt with the plight that many Indian women face and explored cultural misogynies. While it had a few flaws, there were many topics that were raised in it that needed to be dealt with. I enjoy epic dramas.
