What is your favorite part of being on stage and how do you feel about being in front of the camera?

I love the friendships that I have made with the other women that I compete with; being on stage with these ladies is so awesome!

It is overwhelming sometimes to realize that I am on stage with so many of my idols and women that I have followed in this sport for so long! Being on stage makes me nervous but it is a fun kind of good nervous! Being in front of a camera is a little different; I am shy when it comes to having a camera aimed my way! I might get more nervous for a photo shoot than competition!

What is the most difficult hurdle you see as having overcome that helped you gain focus with fitness and otherwise?

It’s been difficult to manage my time because of home schooling my daughter. She is a gymnast and has practice in the mornings and then we would do school work and then she has practice in the afternoons. So finding time for workouts, shopping, cooking etc for shows has been tough. It has made me a better planner and preparer. It has helped me stay focused and always stay on top of things! Plus, her dedication to her sport has really inspired me to work harder and to never give up.

What do you think is one of the most understood part of your lifestyle related to fitness that people need to know?

I think the diet is the most understood part of this lifestyle! I have been asked countless times “aren’t you starving yourself?” I eat 7 times a day; I don’t think that is even close to starvation!

Plus, I never get invited out because people think I wouldn’t enjoy myself because I am “on diet” which is far from the truth, I don’t mind at all! I get used to it and can still have fun!!

What other sports do you like and can you see yourself doing them one day?

I really do not see myself doing any other sport in the way that I am now. I enjoy watching many sports but I plan on continuing training for as long as possible and being a spectator for all other sports! Thank goodness training does not take much coordination; I am pretty uncoordinated for the most part!

Share anything additional that you’d like people to know about you.

I have a daughter that is starting high school. I have home schooled her for the past 4 years and I have loved spending so much time with her. I love to travel and take to photographs, exploring new cities is a great perk to being an IFBB Pro, I have gotten to travel A LOT! I am also a contest promoter; promoting my first NPC competition this coming September in Grand Junction Colorado!
