Krista Dunn, IFBB Pro

Please share something of your background related to your interest in fitness and this shoot.

I have always been involved in fitness; I ran track and swam in high school and was always in the gym! I competed many years ago in bodybuilding and eventually discovered figure! I am very passionate about training and staying fit! It is so fun being in this sport; I love meeting new people and enjoy the new experiences each show provides!

Please share with us a bit about your contest history and most memorable show experience.

I am an IFBB Figure Pro. I started competing in 2009 and I turned pro at Masters Nationals in 2012. I have competed in 29 competitions, 15 of those were pro shows. (Tampa was my 30th.) Earlier this year I won the very first Pro Masters over 35 Figure show in Sacramento! Besides winning my pro-card, winning the very first Masters Figure show was one of the most memorable experiences of my pro career. It’s super cool to be the very first! I really do enjoy competing, training and even the diet! (I guess that is why I have done so many shows!) Competing at the pro level is so awesome because there are so many shows all over the country! Last year I did a show in Finland and I am hoping to do another international show next year!!

What motivates and or inspires you to workout, diet and compete in fitness?

Which part do you have the most difficulty with? I am inspired by my own transformation, the longer I train the better I have become. It’s a bit of an addiction to see what I can improve next!! When I diet for a show, it is awesome to see the changes in my physique and amazing to see what food manipulation really does! I do not have a problem with the diet or cardio etc.I probably have the hardest time taking a break, I am always saying “I can hang on another couple of weeks and do another show.....and another.....and another!!” (cont. pg. 6)
