Anatomy/Physiology (Cum Laude Recognition)
Basic principles of human anatomy and physiology are explored in this course. Topics include
an exploration of the body systems, anatomical terminology, biochemistry, and an introduction to
common human diseases.
Advanced Chemistry (Cum Laude Recognition)
A college level, lecturebased course addressing major topics in chemistry such as the structure
of matter, kinetic theory of gases, chemical equilibria, chemical kinetics, and the basic concepts
of thermodynamics. This course is very demanding and is suggested for all students expecting
to attend college.
AP Biology (Cum Laude Recognition)
A college level, lecturebased course addressing all major topics in the biological sciences:
cells, genetics, evolution, plants, animals, humans, and ecology. Learn about the core scientific
principles, theories, and processes governing living organisms, biological systems, and natural
phenomena. Understand key science practices you can use to develop explanations and
predictions of natural phenomena, which you will test and refine through laboratory
investigations. Develop advanced reasoning and inquiry skills as you design experiments, collect
and analyze data using mathematics and other methods, and interpret that data to draw
conclusions. See Advanced Placement Expectations/Criteria (pg 17)
