Skills Developed
The three organisers in literacy and English mean all pupils will work to improve their skills in :
• listening and talking
• reading
• writing
Assessment In S3 Learners will evidence the requirements for their National 4 literacy qualification completing a number of writing and reading tasks . Learners will also work to complete an independent study of literature . In conjunction with the agreed summative outcomes and highlighted evidence requirements it is assumed that all S3 pupils will study a range of texts and writing genres in each session . It is expected that by the end of each session any S3 pupils should collate a folio of evidence which contains as a minimum , Evidence of listening Evidence of solo talk Evidence of group discussion 2 writing pieces in two different genres 3 literature essays 2 close readings
Progression Routes
There will be a formal examination at the end of the session which will check for progress and skills in Writing and Reading . Progression from the course will be to National 4 or 5 as appropriate .
