Brilliant Edventures ST. SIMONS ISLAND, GEORGIA NTA contact: Elaine Moulder, owner and Edventure maker Office Phone: +1.912.434.3088 Website: brilliantedventures.com NTA member since: 2015 Can you tell me a little about your company and its specialties? We are a receptive operator, mostly. We work with companies that have a retail catalog of tours; group leaders who run travel clubs, bank programs, church programs, corporate tours or reunions; and educators wanting tours with or without music performance opportunities. We have a few guaranteed departure programs for individuals, but mostly we specialize in customized group travel. How long have you been with your company, and how did you get to where you are now? I opened the company in late January 2015. I caught the travel bug as a teen and began a travel career in the late ’90s working for a student tour operator in Michigan. After 9/11, I worked for SYTA as an association executive—which I thoroughly enjoyed— then Pirate’s Dinner Adventure and a couple of tour companies. What destination is at the top of your personal travel list? Like Lay’s potato chips—I can’t choose just one. I love to travel and want to go everywhere. But I do really want to see the Grand Canyon, all of Europe, Egypt, Africa, New Zealand and Portugal. It will really depend on which opportunity presents itself first. What is one fad you wish would make a comeback? Love Beads from the ’60s. They were colorful and worn around the neck or wrist. Friends would give them to each other, and you could buy them in stores, too. “What the world needs now is love, sweet love.” Seems there is too little of it these days.
