MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS See what’s new in your TREX ’17 host city EXPLORE ST. LOUIS COMPILED BY GABE WEBB ’17 PREVIEW THE STORY GOES LIKE THIS: At the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair, Ernest Hamwi was selling waffles at his booth next to an ice cream vendor. When the ice cream stand ran out of bowls, Hamwi improvised, rolling one of his waffles into a cone, and the edible vessel we all know was born. It’s probably too much to apply words like “synergy” or “innovation” to the moment ice cream met waffle cone. But every business has its challenges, and the potential for creative collaboration is all around.
