COLONEL PHOTO COURTESY REBECCA BAUER Miss Kip Orr’s sweet soft spirit is captured perfectly by photographer Rebecca Bauer during a visit with Col. Littleton. Preservation is PRICELESS GIFT With the preservation of the Adams Inn and Tavern, Miss Kip Orr, age 96, gets to see new life breathed into her mother’s birthplace. She said she never thought it was possible. For her, the house is historic because of its age, because it was her grandparents’ first home and her mother’s childhood home. Miss Orr’s family helped settle Belfast. She’s been a gift to Belfast, so it’s fitting that she is being given such a gift now, the gift of life to this piece of her story. Belfast played a critical role in commerce and development for the state of Tennessee, so it is also fitting that the town is being given this gift of life for a piece of the town’s story. The tavern may be in Lynnville, out of sight, but now it is out of harm’s way. We get to watch the tavern’s journey to health through Col. Littleton’s blog. Isn’t technology grand? We’re grateful the colonel fell in love with the tavern’s story because Belfast’s history can’t disappea ȁ
