n Second ( Run-Off ) Primary
“ If in any particular race in the first primary no candidate seeking the party ’ s nomination receives a majority of the votes cast , a second primary ( or run-off ) must be held between the two candidates with the largest number of votes in the first primary . § 17-13-18 ( b ). The second or run-off primary elections will be held on the sixth Tuesday following the primary election . §§ 17-13-3 and 17-13-18 .” n
BALLOT ACCESS
• Minor party and independent candidates must file the appropriate documents with the Alabama Secretary of State on or before the primary day ( June 5 , 2018 ) to be listed on the general election ballot .
• Alabama has no filing requirements for write-in candidates .
