Wildlife artist Richard Whittlestone opens his winter exhibition on Saturday 18th November at his gallery on the Chatsworth estate. On show will be many stunning new original paintings and limited edition prints, plus a number of beautiful pen and ink studies which proved such a hit last year. Richard, who sold his first paintings at the age of just thirteen, hides a tiny fly in every picture he produces. “It started as an aid to give a point of interest in a painting”, Richard explains, “but pretty soon clients were looking for a fly in every painting - even though it wasn’t necessary. “All pictures since 1990 have one - but I’m regularly asked to put a fly into flyless paintings from the 1980’s!” AA sign posted, Richard’s gallery is open every day running up to Christmas, 10am - 5pm and with ample free parking, in a wonderful setting, it is well worth a visit. www.richardwhittlestone.co.uk 01246 582720.
