The Duke of York at Pomeroy will be hosting a Beer and Cider Festival on August Bank Holiday Friday 25th , Saturday 26th, Sunday 27th and Monday 28 August with live music each day. Camping available – Book in advance. They are only yards from The High Peak Trail and are also bordered by many footpaths including the Limestone Way, Midshires and Pennine Bridleway. The recently transformed caravan and campsite has hard standings and electricity is available. The modern shower/toilet block benefits from underfloor heating and the views are stunning. Access is available to the Cromford canal, the Midshires way, even Black Rocks. “If we are open, we don’t mind if you park and walk, as long as you call in for something to eat or drink when you return”. The car park is large enough to accommodate car and bike clubs and we often have groups visit us while out on a run. Homesford Cottage Tea Rooms is run by Rebecca Walton and is fairly unique in that, as well as offering tasty food and drink, it also runs textile workshops. The tea rooms specialise in traditional Derbyshire food. Rebecca’s interest in all things vintage, such as the crockery and fashions, also extends to ancient Derbyshire recipes, such as Wirksworth Thor Cake.
