Step 1: Start by using a base for the highlighter, which would be the colors from the eye shadow palette. Pour this first into a bowl, following with the corresponding Loose Eye Shimmer. When creating a unicorn highlighter, use like colors: yellow eyeshadow with yellow eye shimmer, blue eye shadow with blue shimmer, etc. Be sure to mix these colors in separate bowls to not mix colors. When creating all other custom highlighters, be creative! Don’t be afraid to mix a white eyeshadow with pink and white shimmer for a milky appearance. And for the copper, mix those nudes with pinks and golds. Preference is key. Step 2: Once you have a good amount of eyeshadow and shimmer mix, it’s time to pour the alcohol. We suggest pouring small amounts at time and mixing so the compact is not oversaturated. This will take longer to dry. You can also add more shimmer or eyeshadow as you please to get the perfect texture and color. Step 3: Now it’s time to pour the highlighter in the compact. Evenly distribute the highlighter in the compact, making sure it fills up around all sides. If creating a unicorn highlighter, pour each highlighter color one at a time into parallel lines not mixing colors. Step 4: Take a paper towel and gently press the towel down on the top of the highlighter in the compact letting it touch every area of the highlighter. This takes excess alcohol out of the compact for even faster drying. After this, you can also pour some highlighter on the top just for an extra glow. There is never too much when creating your highlighter. Step 5: You’re done! Leave the highlighter to dry, which can take 24-48 hours. Once dry, swatch away! You’ve just created your custom highlighters to glow the summer away! Did you make an highlighter using our steps?
