Fantastic Foundations
Arguably the most important part of the
wig is the foundation, and can we just gush
about this one? The bases on the Magic
Lace wigs are fantastic. A wide band of
lace runs from ear-to-ear with hand-tied
hair. There’s a full inch+ of space from
the edge of the lace to the skin-toned silk
that makes parting extra realistic. This
extra space at the top means there’s more
room for you to cut the edges to best fit
your face. The silk base and lace are soft
to prevent irritation and the hair is tied on
with precision and care. Just by the ear the
lace has a bit of urethane style coating to
make the edges more secure.
Moving on from the lace segments, the
rest of the cap is just as well constructed.
All of the seams are well constructed to
lay flat and are soft to the touch. The two
types of mesh are also quite soft and have
an open weave to allow plenty of airflow
and prevent any irritation. Four clips keep
the whole unit secure and the adjustable
bands ensure the perfect fit.
All of the wigs in the Magic Lace line
are high heat resistant, but should not be
bleached. Chade notes that because the
hair is already processed any attempts to
color may have unexpected results (we’d
like to add a note that we love this, since
many consumers have been mislead and
had this exact issue). Overall, this is one
of the most well crafted units we’ve seen
in ages and we’re completely enamored.
MLF51
For an easy, everyday style with
sophistication MLF51 is the look for
you. This long, layered number is super
voluminous and can be parted as you like
as well as worn slicked back. We’ve styled
it here with a deep side part and casual cool
makeup with a dramatic highlight. The
yaki texture looks incredibly natural and
we loved how soft and easy to work with
it was. It’s important to note that this was
incredibly easy to style and re-style, our
brush slid through without trouble even
after moderately hard wear.
