Coty Acquires Brazilian Hypermarcas Beauty giant Coty has announced they will be purchasing the entire arm of the Brazilian Hypermarcas. The deal will be made for approximately $1 billion and includes five personal care brands including Monage, Risque, Bozzano, Paixao, and Bicolor. This purchase is a foot into the bustling Brazilian market that Coty has been looking for. CEVA and Sephora Team up in Brazil Sephora has announced that in order to facilitate its sales throughout Brazil the company will team up with CEVA, one of the world’s leading supply chain companies. The company estimates that CEVA will now be taking responsibility for over 7,000 sku’s and handle about three million orders per year. Supply Chain Regional Director for Sephora, Fabio Conclaves, said in a press release, “We are very happy to enter this partnership with a recognized global player in the 3PL business. As we plan to grow in Brazil we can see that CEVA will support this growth and be an excellent partner to deliver our needs. “We chose CEVA because we needed a dynamic 3PL who could respond to our needs and precisely tailor their service offering to the fast-moving needs of a cosmetic house. Every second counts for us and the seconds with accuracy which CEVA will deliver are even better.” Fabio Mendunekas, CEVA’s Vice President of Business Development said, “Not only are we proud to celebrate this partnership with Sephora, but we are equally proud to bring such a fashionable icon into CEVA´s portfolio of cosmetics and healthcare customers. With this contract we further our objective of diversifying our Sector portfolio.” Pure Drop—New Frontiers in Airless Packaging The teams behind Korea’s Samhwa and the French group Pochet have announced that they are working together to develop the newest version of airless packaging that they are calling Pure Drop. Currently there are very few airless packaging options, especially in the prestige industry due to a combination of functionality limitations and design issues. The two companies hope that with Samhwa’s performance capabilities and Pochet’s designs they will be able to perfect the technology and corner the market. Asia Pacific Chinese Manufacturing Company Ying Shuo Opens Doors To New Facility Ying Shuo, a Chinese company that manufactures beauty packaging, has announced the opening of a new factory in the outskirts of Shanghai. The new facility has about 40,000 sqm, and the space allows for a wide range of equipment that will enable the company to further its work in the field. Currently 60% of finished product is exported abroad with 2/3 heading to the US and the remainder finding its way to Europe.
