In Prix d’Excellence De La Beaute Awards 2016 that
was held at The Ballroom in London’s Claridge’s Hotel,
Marie Claire revealed the winner of the most innovative
and effective products launched over the past year.
A panel of UK beauty journalists, including Lisa
Oxenham, Marie Claire’s Beauty and Style Director,
chose the winners of the British Jury Prizes. John Frieda
Frizz Ease Dream Curls Air-Dry Waves Styling Foam
won the Best Hair Care category. Elizabeth Arden Eight
Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil bagged the prize for
Best Body Care. bareMinerals Complexion Rescue
was the overall winner in the Best Make-Up Category,
and finally, Estée Lauder New Dimension Shape + Fill
Expert Serum won the prize for Best Skin Care.
KISS Products is likely to see great success with her
endorsement.
Estée Lauder Acquires Fragrance Brand By
Kilian
Europe
Kilian Hennessy, of the cognac company, has sold
his fragrance company, By Kilian, to Estée Lauder. By
Kilian was founded in 2007 and offers a range of scents
with a focus on luxury. “Kilian has built a beautiful and
sumptuous brand that elevates the art of perfume creation with elegance and uncompromising luxury. This
acquisition gives our company a strategic opportunity
to continue to build upon our leadership in ultra-luxury
fragrances. We are very excited to work closely with
Kilian and the entire By Kilian team to continue building on the brand’s terrific success,” said Fabrizo Freda,
CEO and President of Estée Lauder.
Alexander McQueen Brand Branches into
Fragrance
Firmenich Unveils New Fragrance
Technology
The brand, known for its clothing design, has announced that with the development and distribution
help of Prestige Beauty Business of P&G it will launch
its first fragrance in March of 2016. This first scent,
called McQueen Parfum, will be Harrods exclusive.
Currently the fragrance is priced at $385; an eau de parfum will be launched later this year with a lower price
point. With a combination of sambac jasmine, ylangylang, black pepper, pink pepper, vetiver, and tuberose,
the scent is expected to bring in $50m in retail sales.
While McQueen has collaborated on scents in the past,
this is their first solo scent.
The fragrance company, hailing from Switzerland,
has developed a biotech process to create Ambrox,
the component needed for creating amber notes in fra grances. The new method will allow them to produce
the compound in large quantities which is likely to put
them at the head of production. The CEO of Firmenich,
Gilbert Ghostine, said of the advancement, “Having pioneered white biotechnology for the fragrance industry,
with the launch of Clearwood, I am very proud to see
that we continue to lead through game-changing innovation with the introduction of a new biotech production process for Ambrox.”

Face
Leona Lewis, the famed musiLeona Lewis, the famed musician, has announced that she will
be the newest celebrity face to

nail products. Lewis said of the
