SKIN PREP 1. To prepare her skin and body for the new regimen and medications she might need, have her see a dermatologist six months before the wedding. Facials and skin lightening treatments need to be done months before the wedding, especially facials, since some services require weeks of at home after treatments. 2. Have your bride take extra care of the skin around her eyes, since that area on the face is particularly sensitive. She should be gentle when removing eye makeup with water-soluble makeup remover. Suggest a night cream with adequate sleep, and a cool compress once or twice a week. Days before her wedding, she must stay clear of salty foods because they can make eyes look swollen. 3. Have your bride exfoliate her lips at least once a week, and suggest using a Vitamin E stick, which is sold at pharmacies and health food stores. Also, most lip balms these days have sunscreens in them; suggest using it to protect her lips from looking and feeling dry. 4. For skin to look bright and healthy, have your bride gently exfoliate her skin everyday using a loofah or body scrub. Don’t forget the feet! Scrub away cracked skin that can be found on toes, but more clearly on heels. A well moisturized and cared for feet are less likely to blister. 5. Remind your bride that waxing should be done no later than 72 hours before the wedding day. This is important since some tend to develop an irritation on the skin on the waxed area. If this happens, a calming cream with colostrum should do the trick in reducing redness and swelling. 6. And finally, on her wedding day, before proceeding to your hair and makeup chair, have your bride prime her skin by gently exfoliating while in the shower. Suggest a hydrating serum that works perfectly on her skin to keep her skin looking bright and healthy. 55
