RUNWAY INSPIRATION
for the Wedding Season
The Spring/Summer ‘16 runways were brimming with inspiration, not just for warm weather ensembles, but also for
brides and their stylists! We revisited the many gorgeous beauty looks to bring you ideas for bridal hair and makeup you’ll definitely want to try this wedding season. We turned to labels from Banana Republic and Rachel Zoe to
Herve Leger and Michael Costello, who all had fresh, effortlessly elegant looks for spring/summer, to showcase
styles we know you’ll be dying to copy.
HERVE LEGER: BRAIDS
Designer Herve Leger was not afraid to go for a bold
braid, and we love it. Braids have been big the past few
years on the runway, the red carpet, and in bridal hair,
but they are not going anywhere yet. We predict they’ll
be huge again this year, and that’s why we’re bringing
you this gorgeous inspiration created with the help of
Tresemme designer, Lubov Azria, who said about the
look, “It’s the 30th anniversary of Hervé Léger so we’re
embracing a new direction with a more organic quality
in our handwork and elements of nature incorporated
into the collection so we wanted to collaborate with Orlando on a softer braid and really play with texture more
than we have before.” Azria’s braid gives the impression
of a crown and yet still feels very earthy and loose.
At Banana Republic’s show, we loved the simple ponytails on some of the models, created by
stylist Jeanie Syfu. The high ponytails looked
effortless yet so elegant. The length of the ponytail was slightly textured with a soft wave,
almost a beach wave. Hair was long, so this
look could be created using extensions for the
big day. Makeup, which was created by Sara
Lucero for Stila Cosmetics, also suggested a
dewy, fresh out of the water vibe, and this really
brought the whole look together. The collection
was inspired by the rich textures and colors of
the spice markets and history of the artisans in
Morocco. Definitely pair this look with some
killer earrings like the models did for the show.
