Wigs For Cosplay
While there are a lot of similarities to cosplay wigs and everyday wear one ’ s , there were quite a few differences as well . We had the chance to sit in on a wig course and learned a few interesting facts . One of the first , which we had not considered , was that because many of these wigstensions are only worn once or twice a year they often must be reasonably cheap . When dealing with it ’ s of a lower price point new challenges arrive , and many cosplayers aren ’ t fully aware of the best ways to care for their wigs .

The course went on to discuss fibers , basic construction , and care . All things most of our readers are well versed on , but it was worthwhile to see how little information is available outside our circles . Despite these challenges , many cosplayers had still managed to create stunning wigs , and we loved seeing styles that we ’ ve come to recognize looks from our own favorite companies altered to fit a very different manner .
One great example - one cosplayer ( Present Mic from My Hero Academia ) used a simple lace front wig that they then bleached , cut , and molded into the correct shape . While entirely unusual , it matched the character they were portraying perfectly and demonstrated the level of artistry we saw over , and over again .
Meanwhile , cosplayers of color , like ThouArtAnuli , were absolutely slaying with custom lace fronts and styles that perfectly meshed with their cosplays . Two of Anuli ’ s looks , for Bulma of Dragonball and Sailor Allura , included stunning wigs . Her teal hair for Bulma is a style we can ’ t get enough of . Custom teal lace front ? Yas please !
