ith the weather already
changing for colder
and the moisture levels
plummeting my dry
damaged hair and I are constantly
reaching for hair masks. When I don’t
have time to DIY my favorite recipe I
like to have a standby (or four) at the
ready in the shower. When I’m pick-
ing a pre-packaged conditioning mask
there are a few things I look for.

I always want the ingredients to be
ones I can easily decipher or discover.
In the last few months I’ve learned
that not every unpronounceable
ingredient is necessarily bad, while
I do prefer things I recognize I also
know that some altered ingredients
can be less damaging to my hair in the
long run. For instance, while using
too much natural coconut oil caused
my hair to break because of protein
build up I’ve found that products
using compounds of coconut are okay
for every other day use. Right now
I’m also loving seaweed, rice protein,
and honey, which all help to keep hair
healthy, strong and shiny.
