make on a guy. It’s a sad reality that many curly-haired men hate their curls due to their lack of knowledge on how to correctly manage the curly tresses atop their heads. When I started seeing with my own eyes the immensely-positive impact that my advice was having on guys who had, until then, hated their curls, I knew there and then that it was my duty to spread the word further and provide solutions to curly dudes worldwide. Believe it or not, I was never a fan of blogging until I started Manly Curls! As a matter of fact, I knew nothing about how the internet worked, and I wasn’t quite sure if a blog would be the right fit for me. However, when I started Manly Curls four years ago, I was instantly hooked on the blogging experience. in which my words have impacted them so positively. I am myself so thankful to be able to help curly guys worldwide to embrace and rock their curls, and Manly Curls was created from the get-go for that very purpose: to inspire curly guys to embrace their curls by giving them the right advice and knowledge. 4. Tell us about your books Well, my books were created as the next step in my quest to help curly guys and non-curly guys with their hair. I first wrote The Curly Hair Book in 2013 as a way to expand on my Manly Curls website and as a way to integrate everything about curly hair into a single and easy-to-read resource as is The Curly Hair Book. The book is some 230 pages long and covers even more stuff than what I’ve covered over at Manly Curls. The Curly Hair Book was based on my experience with not just my curly hair but also on my experience with others’ curly hair. Likewise, I used all the feedback from my readers that I had gotten until then through Manly Curls to write about the things that curly men didn’t just need but things that they also wanted to read. What inspires you to blog? My inspiration to blog is the positive impact that I am creating on those who read my words. Essentially, my readers are my inspiration to continue to blog because I’ve always wanted Manly Curls to be an online resource for everyone (curly guys and non-curly guys) to browse around and learn the reality of curly hair for men: that you can conveniently rock an epic mane so long as you follow the right advice and acquire the right knowledge! I’ve lost count of how many emails and comments I’ve gotten over the years of guys thanking me for helping them out via Manly Curls and via my books; it’s incredibly humbling to hear their stories and the way 67
