TYPES OF LACE ON LACE WIGS
French Lace
French lace is the thickest and most durable type, perfect for first time users and for those who wear and
remove wigs frequently. French lace can take rough
handling, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t handle
it properly. The only down side to French lace is that it
is often detectable. To pull off wearing a lace wig with
French lace, we recommend purchasing a lace wig with
bangs and longer hair. Make sure the lace color matches
your skin or scalp color.
Korean Lace
Korean Swiss lace is as durable as French lace and is
perfect for those who frequently wear lace wigs. They
are less detectable than the French lace; however, when
purchasing a wig with Korean Swiss lace we still recommend one with long hair and bangs. This way it
can cover up the front and keep the lace from being
exposed.
Swiss Lace
Lace wigs with Super Swiss
lace are the ones that celebrities use. This type of
lace is thin, lightweight,
and less
durable,
not making it ideal for everyday use. You can easily
purchase any type of hairstyle and hair length with this
type of lace. Because it is very delicate, it may rip if not
handled properly. We talked to the R&D department of
the Vivica A. Fox hair collection who recently released
Swiss lace wigs in selected styles to find out more on
Swiss lace.
Q: What differentiates Swiss Lace from
French or Korean Lace? What is unique about
Swiss Lace?
VF: First of all, Swiss Lace is very thin and soft to
the touch, opposed to other laces which are stubby. It
makes the lace light and comfortable when worn, and it
gives much less stress to your scalp and forehead than
other laces. Other kinds of lace are treated for durability, and as a result, it may scratch your skin when the
cut edge is not treated properly. Even though the lace is
not as stiff as other two, it still does not wrinkle, and it
retains the tension to keep the structure from sagging or
being loose. It is very undetectable when applied to any
skin tone because of its thinness and transparent character. The most unique feature is that the lace consists of
hexagonal shaped holes like in a beehive. It makes the
styling much easier than with other laces because the
hexagon helps the direction of the hair to be as natural
as possible for combing or stroking with fingers.
Q: What makes the Swiss Lace a choice for
Vivica Fox Lace wigs?
VF: Vivica Fox Hair Collection is dedicated to offering the highest customer satisfaction in the quality of
the hair, the structure of wigs, and their trend-leading
styles. In line with this principle, Swiss Lace is chosen
to bring the most comfortable wearing sensation with
its light and thin material, and it is selected to implement the most natural look of the hair and the styling
with its unique hexagonal structure.
Q: What are some tips for handling the Swiss
Lace properly?
VF: Since the Swiss Lace is very thin and delicate, it
may rip pretty easily if you are not careful. When you
cut the lace, you do not really have to worry about the
edge being too sharp, but try to cut evenly so that there
is no nick in the lace for a possible ripping point and to
avoid tearing.

e’ve talked before about the different
types of hair and different ways to construct the base of a wig, but have you
ever wondered if there are different
types of lace on a lace wig as well? There are three
different types, and the characteristics of each type of
lace are the reason you may have noticed you prefer
one type of lace wig over another. What on earth are we
talking about? We’re talking about comfort, visibility,
and usage.
