RAVANA held a webinar (online/live seminar) with
Hollywood hairstylist, educator, hair guru, and balayage
expert, Guy Tang. The webinar cost $9.99, and was
available to all stylists who wanted to listen in and learn
about the Pure Enlightenment Balayage Kit and learn a special
technique that Guy Tang always uses on his clients, a technique
he named “Diamonds in the Sky.”
Guy Tang is also known for his expertise in ombré and fashion
colors. He is famous for his fun, inspiring, and educational videos

that he posts weekly on his YouTube channel. You
can also constantly see him updating his followers
with his latest “hairtivities” via Facebook,
Instagram, Twitter, Periscope, etc. As a hairstylist,
Guy knew what current products were lacking and
what improvements needed to be made to perform
a simple bleaching service. And like a prayer
answered by the heaven of all salons, Guy teamed
up with PRAVANA, where in their laboratory, he
helped create the Pure Enlightenment Balayage Kit
to his preference and liking.
Stylists, especially Guy Tang’s “Hair Besties”
from all over the world listened in on the webinar,
which was emceed by PRAVANA’s Director of
Marketing, Irene Seferian. During the webinar,
Guy started off by talking about the fashion colors
he has done on his clients, using PRAVANA’s
ChromaSilk Vivids. There they displayed pictures
of his work, showing off the different color
combinations that he created.
They then proceeded to display a picture of
another of his clients who had black chunks of
hair underneath her natural blonde hair. He used
the Pure Enlightenment Balayage Kit on her to
remove the black chunks, and the after picture
showed amazing results. “What you would notice
is that it makes her hair thin from afar. The black
kind of sinks in and the light stands out, and that
becomes a problem because she wanted her hair
to look thicker, create more expansion, and create
more volume. Even after I cut off three inches of
her hair, the illusion of having more blonde in her
hair creates more impact especially on pictures.”
He later emphasized that “light expands, and dark
compresses, if you want illusion of more hair, it’s
good to add more sun kissed highlights with our
balayage kit lightener.”
After looking at Guy’s previous works, they
then proceeded with the discussion on the Pure
Enlightenment Balayage Kit. They talked about the
items inside the kit one-by-one and Guy explained
what he liked about the formulas and how they
perform.
The Pure Light Balayage Lightener is a claybased lightener with aloe and keratin. According to
Guy, it is the only lightener that has a strong lift and
can nourish the hair at the same time thanks to the
aloe and keratin ingredients. The three Pure Light
Balayage Activators are classified into Low, which
gives 2-3 levels of lift; Medium, which gives 3-4
levels of lift; and High, which gives 4+ levels of lift.
Guy specifically encourages the stylists to measure
the Lightener and Activator with a 1:2 ratio to get
the perfect consistency needed to get the perfect
