News Beauty School Buzz EMPIRE BEAUTY SCHOOL TAKES IN STUDENTS WHOSE OWN SCHOOL CLOSES The Lab, a Paul Mitchell school in New Jersey, recently shut its doors. Many of the students were left with only part of a beauty school education and nowhere to go. Empire reports that Lily Nejab, who moved to the United States from Iran about a year ago, was one of those students and needed to find a place to finish up her hours. Nejab, who already holds a cosmetology degree in Iran, said, “I already have a position at a local salon. The only thing I need is to take my state board exam so I can be licensed.” With only 49 hours left to finish her degree, Nejab and 23 other students found a home at Empire Beauty School’s Bordentown campus. ARROJO’S TEXTURE SUMMIT OFFERS THREE HANDS-ON CLASSES TO PRACTICE HOTTEST TEXTURE TRENDS 92 COSMOBIZ SALON APRIL 2016 Arrojo offered three hands-on classes in March focused on bringing students the best in texture education. American Wave and American Wave Advanced were held on Monday, March 7th. American Wave Advanced taught new American Wave wraps featuring tighter curl patterns at the nape, with significantly looser curls through the top, inspired by the fashion and beauty trend toward loose textures, bombshell beach waves, and volume. In addition, Arrojo offered a class teaching students how to cut and style curly hair. Arrojo signature techniques were presented on a live model. All classes took place at the Arrojo Advanced Academy in New York City. ARROJO BOOT CAMP TO BE BEGIN THIS MONTH The first ARROJO Boot Camp of the year will be held April 24-May 19. Arrojo Boot Camp is an intensive course lasting four weeks, for seven to eight hours a day, where students hone in on beauty skills. This year’s attendees will also receive 20 Arrojo Education DVDs, valued at $1500, as a free gift. Boot camp features small class ratios of one educator per six students.
