the school to see that there’s more to life than just working in a salon. How do you pick students for to work the show? For Plitzs, because this is a big fashion show, I ask who wants to go. For other shows I may have to be more selective but for Plitzs if you want to go, you’re going to go. We’ll help you out and we’re going to get the job done. What has been the response? They love it. I have three students who graduated, one over two years ago, one was six months ago, and they came to the show. They came to the September show, and they’re back again because that’s how much they love it. Yolanda Stokes Yasmin Payne Jayquan Savage In this group of students two of the three were back at Plitzs for their second go round. We caught up with them to get their impressions. They’d spent the day working on a wide variety of styles for the different shows; some of the most popular were side braids, slick backs, and curls. Yasmin: I worked at last year’s fashion week on September 12th and this is my second year back I also modeled in a show last year and I’m here back to do hair. Yolanda: I’m a friend of Yasmin, she goes to the Hair Design Institute and her teacher, Ms. Nicole, helped me get in today for fashion week. What do you think of this years event so far?
