A number of events were organised during the year, but the
attendance was poor and sadly a number of them were
unfortunately cancelled.
24 July
KZN intended to host a lecture, “Understanding Bio-
Degradability Testing & Claims” by Heidi Duveskog and
“Packaging” by Annabe Pretorius. Unfortunately only four KZN
members registered, this was insufficient attendance to cover the
venue costs and as such the event was cancelled.
2 August
11 ladies celebrated Ladies Day at the Beverly Hills Hotel
Umhlanga under the theme “Ubuntu: I am because of you”. An
event where everyone received a luncheon and complementary
gift.
4 October
The Estee Lauder day celebration at the Beverly Hotel in
Umhlanga was cancelled due to the Hotel failing to secure our
booking.
Cape Town Chapter
Jacques Strydom
This year the Cape Town Chapter was awoken as Jacques Strydom
took up the chairmanship of this Chapter.
10 July
Presented an afternoon lecture, “Think with Google – Beauty
Trends- Skin Care” by Kim MacCallum of Vantage Speciality
Chemicals. Mosaic Manufacturing is acknowledged for the use of their
facility.
23 August
Presented a morning seminar, “Basic Colour Training” by Marieta Smit
of Chemgrit Cosmetics. The morning was hosted by Chemgrit
Cosmetics, and Catwalk Cosmetics is acknowledged for the use of their
facilities.
8 October
A presentation on “Introduction to Fragrances” by Ben Reddy of
Fragrance Oils, UK, had to be called off due to. Ben being involved in
an accident and was not able to visit South Africa.
23 October
To make up for the cancelled Estee lauder function 16 members
celebrated High Tea at the Oyster Box in Umhlanga.
