Ranked 3rd in Astros system with 8 saves. Tossed 59 1/3 innings combined while collecting 46 strikeouts and 22 walks. Began season with 3 scoreless outings for Buies Creek (5 1/3 IP, 4 H, 4 K), including a save on April 7 vs. Winston-Salem. Roughed up in final Carolina League outing on April 18 at Myrtle Beach, allowing 6 runs (4 earned) in 1 inning. Made AA debut on April 23 at Frisco, twirling 2 scoreless frames. In 13 appearances with Corpus Christi during April and May, allowed just 6 earned runs in 18 2/3 innings. Recorded a 2.53 ERA in 8 appearances (10 2/3 IP) during June, including 3 saves in 4 chances. Called up to Fresno in early July, making 3 appearances from July 7-July 18 (3 1/3 IP, 2 ER, 4 H). Returned to Corpus Christi for 5 appearances from July 23-August 8 (9 IP, 2 ER, 5 H). Led Corpus Christi with 7 saves between the 2 stints at AA. Returned to Fresno on August 13 at Albuquerque, giving up a season-high 5 earned runs (4 BB, 2 H) in a single frame. Finished season with pair of scoreless appearances on September 3-4 at Salt Lake (2 2/3 IP, 2 H). 2016 – Pitched to a combined 3.11 ERA with Quad Cities and Lancaster. Went 4 for 5 in save chances with Quad Cities and recorded his first career save on April 13 at Peoria (1 2/3 IP, 0 R). In April, made 7 appearances while holding a 1.10 ERA over 16 1/3 innings. Made 5 appearances in May (2.92 ERA, 12 1/3 IP) while going at least 2 innings or more in 4 of those appearances. Made debut with Lancaster on May 27 vs. High Desert, going 2 scoreless innings in relief. Did not allow a run through 7 1/3 innings (3 appearances) to begin time with the JetHawks. Struggled in June (11 2/3 IP, 10.03 ERA) but bounced back in July (14 IP, 3.21 ERA). Transitioned to closer role in late July and would go on to record 5 saves in 6 California League chances. Was named Lancaster Pitcher of the Month for August (13 1/3 IP, 1.35 ERA, 2 SV). Held a post All-Star break ERA of 2.43 with Lancaster. 2015 – Made professional debut on July 6 at Kingsville with a scoreless inning in relief. Named Appalachian League Pitcher of the Week for August 24-30, striking out 7 over 9 combined shutout frames in victories against Elizabethton and Princeton. Surrendered just 1 earned run in 21 August innings, rendering a 2-1 record and 0.43 ERA. Charged with 1 ER in 7 relief assignments, covering 16 innings. Posted a 1.20 ERA in 4 starts. College Notes: 4-year member of starting rotation at North Dakota and led the program to its first Western Athletic Conference Tournament in his senior season. Finished career at North Dakota as the program record holder for innings (333 1/3) and shutouts (4). Also ranked second in wins (18) and complete games (17) while ranked third all-time in strikeouts (220).
