With the contest locked in a scoreless tie in the seventh, the RockHounds pushed across a run on three hits against Trent Thornton. Facing Dean Deetz in the eighth, the Hounds seemingly broke the game open thanks to a two-out, three-run double off the bat of Max Schrock. Trailing 4-0, Garrett Stubbs coaxed a free pass from Lou Trivino to begin the home half. Ramon Laureano then smacked a double off the fence in left field. Kyle Finnegan entered the game and yielded an RBI groundout to J.D. Davis. Nick Tanielu reignited the rally with a two-bagger to right-center, making it a two-run game. Following a strikeout, pinch-hitter Bobby Boyd snuck an RBI single thru the left side. Three batters later, Boyd scored on a wild pitch to tie the game. In the top of the ninth, Eric Peterson escaped a bases-loaded jam by coaxing a double play on a 3-1 pitch. Then three of the first four Hooks reached against Cody Stull, leading to a walk-off RBI single by Antonio Nunez. 150
