After splitting their 28 regular-season contests, the Hooks and Missions treated the
Whataburger Field faithful of 7,000-strong to a dandy in Game 1. With the score level
in the 11th, Domingo Santana opened the frame with a single to left. Following a
walk and a sac bunt, Matt Duffy lifted a sac fly to right field for Corpus Christi’s 12th
walk-off win of 2013. Duffy also accounted for the Hooks initial run with a two-out RBI
single in the seventh. Mike Foltynewicz shined in his first career playoff start. Jonas
Dufek, who won seven of his 14 regular-season appearances while permitting one
earned run, got the final out in the 11th with a pair in scoring position.
