Jordan Lyles, just 19 years of age, tossed an inning of shutout relief in the fourth and was the winning pitcher as the South edged the North 5-4. Lyles allowed one single and threw 19 pitches, 12 for strikes. Left fielder J.B. Shuck made the play of the night. With two on and two out in the top of the ninth, Tim Smith of Northwest Arkansas singled to left. Tulsa’s Wilin Rosario tried to score from second on the play, but Shuck made a perfect throw to Hooks’ catcher Lou Santangelo, who tagged Rosario at the plate for the game’s final out. Shuck also made a great leaping catch in the sixth, robbing Springfield’s Curt Smith of an extra-base hit to the gap in left-center, denying the North another run. Former Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islander hurler Trey Hearne, representing the Springfield Cardinals, tossed two innings of shutout ball as the starter for the North and got the win. Drew Locke, Jhon Florentino and Collin DeLome each had a single for the South, while DeLome added a stolen base. Polin Trinidad tossed an inning of shutout relief in the seventh. 119
