Springfield center fielder Oscar Taveras was tabbed MVP after notching three hits , including a two-run home run off RHP Ross Seaton , as the North bested the South 3-1 in the 76th edition of the Texas League All-Star Game at ONEOK Field in Tulsa . A ground-rule double by Tulsa ’ s Nolan Arenado plated Kolton Wong of the Cardinals to open the fourth-inning uprising against Seaton . Eight North hurlers held the South to just two hits .
RHP Jarred Cosart and RHP Jason Stoffel authored a scoreless fifth and sixth , respectively , for the South . OF Austin Wates missed the game due to injury and LHP Brett Oberholtzer was promoted to Triple-A Oklahoma City in mid-June .

LHP Dallas Keuchel and outfielder J . D . Martinez made major contributions to the South Division in its 3-2 win over the North in the 75th edition of the Texas League All-Star Game at Wolff Municipal Stadium in San Antonio . Keuchel was the only South Division pitcher to go beyond an inning of work , tossing two shutout frames . He allowed one hit and one walk while striking out three . Keuchel pitched out of a one-out , bases-loaded jam in the fifth by striking out two of the toughest hitters in the league – Mike Trout of Arkansas and Tulsa ’ s Tim Wheeler .
Martinez started in left and batted sixth in the order , going 2-for-4 with a double . His second-inning single was instrumental in the South grabbing a 1-0 lead .
Jimmy Paredes entered the game as a defensive replacement in the sixth and got one at-bat – flying out to right in the eighth . LHP Xavier Cedeno did not pitch in the game . Shortstop Wladimir Sutil , the only player in club history to be voted onto the All-Star team three times , received an early-June promotion to AAA Oklahoma City and was not part of the event .
