The North Division engineered a 9-4 triumph over the South in the 79th installment of the Texas League All-Star Game before a crowd of 7,370 at Whataburger Field . Jorge Bonifacio of Northwest Arkansas broke a 4-4 tie in the eighth with a two-run homer to left field off San Antonio ’ s Tayron Guerrero . Bonifacio , named the game ’ s MVP , later coaxed a bases-loaded walk from Jandel Gustave as part of a three-run North ninth . Corpus Christi ace Chris Devenski earned the start for the South and authored a pair of perfect innings . Upon Devenski ’ s exit , the North staged traffic over the remaining seven frames , scoring in five of those innings .
Tyler White , who was called up to Triple-A following the all-star game , delighted the Whataburger Field faithful by winning the home-run derby .
