accordgroup.org.uk /about How we will meet our Corporate Objectives Meeting Need < New homes To support our own ambitions and those of government, we will build new affordable homes across Birmingham, the Black Country and the surrounding areas, many of which will be architecturally designed by Indesign, manufactured at the LoCaL Homes timber frame factory and constructed by our in-house team; this provides a 15% reduction in construction time compared to brick builds. The homes have high levels of energy efficiency thus reducing fuel costs for our customers. We shall also explore part-ownership and sale products, using surplus generated to reinvest in core products and services and further expand our in-house construction team to drive down the cost of building homes. Over the next four years we will continue to invest substantially in delivering regeneration schemes to change old urban landscapes to provide opportunities and choice for local communities - for example the award-winning Urban 180 scheme in the centre of West Bromwich, which is contributing high quality, well-designed affordable homes to the town centre wide regeneration initiative. We will also continue to work directly with local communities to help shape neighbourhoods in which people want to live. Delivery: n Through Government funding and other funding options, build new homes for Accord and for development partners as per the Group’s Financial Plan n Consider wider strategic partnerships and alliances within the public and private sectors n Seek to support organisations and respond to opportunities where organisations may be seeking to transfer stock/services if these meet the Group’s growth ambitions and core purpose and in line with the Regulator’s guidance
