Winter Series • • Description: The Saturday Winter series runs on a Saturday and consists of a handicap start for all boats which makes way for an exciting finish as boats cross the finish line at the same time. A handicap start is when boats are allocated an individual starting time of day. Results are calculated by place over the line. Race Format: Spinnaker and Non- Spinnaker, around the cans racing on Pittwater. • Race length average: 120 minutes. • Series: Races take place on Saturdays during June and July. • Starting Times: Start times are dependent on individual boat handicaps, with the first boats starting at 1200hrs. Starting handicaps are released by 0930hrs on the day of each race. Two Handed Series • 30 Description: The Two Handed series runs alongside the Women’s Winter Series and consists of four (4) inshore races in an ‘around the cans’ style. Women’s Winter Series • Early Bird Series Description: The Women’s Winter series is run alongside the Winter Two-Handed Series and consists of four (4) inshore races in an ‘around the cans’ format. Boats contesting in the Women’s Winter Series must have a female helm. The race takes advantage of the Winter morning breeze on a Sunday. • Race Format: Inshore racing around the cans. • Race Length Average: 120 minutes. • Series: The Women’s Winter series commences in May and is held on the first Sunday each month through until August. • Starting Times: 1000hrs. The series is held on a Sunday on Pittwater and caters for both experienced and new one design and sportsboat teams. • Race Format: A laid course with up to three Windward/Leeward sprints held for each round. • Race Length Average: 35 minutes per race. • Series: The Dustbuster Series commences in May and is held on the second Sunday each month through until August. • Starting Times: From 0730hrs.
