PRAYER FOR BROWN REVERAND HENRY J. BODAH ASSOCIATE CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY CHAPLAIN O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, Image and Word of the Father, we look to you in our joys and difficulties as the revelation of who God is for us and who we are called to be as human beings. You show us the workings of divine providence beyond what we could learn from nature: that each individual is loved, even in our weakness and failures; that no one is beyond the mercy and healing power of love; that we are known and loved from all eternity according to a plan that we cannot fathom. We pray to you especially for our university. No learning can take us from you who are Truth itself. Let every discovery increases our awe before the divine laws manifest in nature. May anything good, beautiful, or true be seen as filled with the touch of your creating hand and only lead us to the One beyond the limits of our intellect and experience. Give us a always a love of learning and a desire for God. Pour out your Holy Spirit from the right hand of the Father, to keep us in all truth. Help us not to take ourselves too seriously but to remain humble before realities greater than ourselves. You have taken upon yourself all our weaknesses and sins, while yourself remaining ever faithful to the Father. and have passed through the death of the cross to resurrection and eternal glory, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen 31
