Cornerstone Youth Center

Cornerstone is excited to turn a new page for the Youth Center. Cornerstone is now revamping and reenergizing the Youth Center with the help of volunteers.

Located a few doors down from the Soup Kitchen on Prospect Street in Rockville, the Cornerstone Community Center sees approximately 35 to 40 teens visiting every Tuesday and Thursday evenings. That number has been growing.

Creating a safe place for teens "to be" is important to Cornerstone. We hope to offer programs, homework help and other types of assistance for the youth.

Thank you to the Knights of Columbus Council #4122 for painting the walls to the game room before it opened for the start of the summer program.

Paula Plante, the center's director and assistant Travis created a summer program thanks to a generous donation from the Exchange Club of Rockville. The need for a safe place for teens continues so Cornerstone plans to remain open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 8 pm. All financial support is greatly appreciated to enable the center to continue to stay open.

In addition, Paula and Travis are looking for volunteers

for weekly coverage, homework help or to teach our

youth a skill.
