Center Street Arts. For an intimate
setting, enjoy a “black box” style
performance at Center Street Arts, which
is home to the Conyers Rockdale Council
for the Arts. Funded by grants from the
Georgia Council for the Arts, generous
contributions from local arts enthusiasts,
businesses, and local governments,
the Arts Council hosts, organizes and
promotes performing and visual arts
events throughout the year. Many of the
Arts Council’s shows and performances
take place at the Rockdale County
Auditorium, which can seat as many as
600 patrons. We invite you to see one of
the shows or join the cast.
During the winter months, bring your
children ages 3 to 6 to the monthly
Pre-School Pops programs featuring
outstanding performances in song, dance,
music, and drama through the Woodruff
Arts Center. In June, sign up the older kids
for ArtSmart Day Camp, which the Arts
Council also sponsors.
For theatre fans, The Original Depot
Players built a reputation of excellence
in community theatre, and the tradition
lives on in The New Depot Players, the
reorganized and award-winning resident
theatre troupe. Since 1976, when they
performed in the old train depot, quality

School Productions. Recognizing
that academic activities are enhanced
by cultural pursuits, the schools in
Rockdale County offer another venue
for entertaining theatrical performances.
Each of Rockdale County’s public high
schools has an auditorium complete with

equipment that can seat more than
550 theatergoers. The students deliver
extraordinary musicals, comedies and
dramas. Community audiences are always
dazzled and delighted by the level of talent
in these exceptional and entertaining
shows. Most of the student musicals are
enhanced by live music provided
by student orchestras.
